SSAM prepares students mentally, emotionally and socially, imparting resiliency tools for learning and living that will serve them for a lifetime.


Stress, a behavioral hub-of-the-wheel trigger,
can be modified with SSAM skills.

SSAM provides an antidote to life’s stressors, including those stressors unique to at risk and underserved populations. Students learn how to release anxiety and anger skillfully versus acting out in destructive ways on themselves or others.  SSAM also positively impacts students’ lives in many other areas, including academic achievement and self-esteem as well as pain and insomnia management.

The Student Stress & Anger Management Program is based on KRS Edstrom’s 30 years of training and research in this field.  The program uses a specially developed youth-friendly method that is based on study and teachings of mindfulness meditation and applied imagery.  This method helps students develop the ability to calm an agitated mind or body and to be more patient and tolerant with themselves and others.  It also aids students in being able to imagine and visualize creatively and academically.  This program has proven effective with the general student body as well as benefiting ESL classes, ADD students and special education classes.
